摘要

Results of comparative analysis of the Maxwellian current density measured at the Polish Polar Station Hornsund, Spitsbergen, and the Jozefoslaw observatory in Poland are presented. Some of the data sets display significant values of the cross-correlation function. The phase delay (up to 90 s) seems to indicate that it is changes of ionospheric potential and not of the columnar resistance that are the origin of the observed global Maxwellian current fluctuations. Hence, the Maxwellian current variations seem to have extraterrestrial origin and can be a useful tool for monitoring of the state of space.
