COMMISSION CELEBRATES 100TH MEETING IN OMAGH

The Human Rights Commission will celebrate its 100th Board meeting in Omagh recently. Addressing a local reception in the offices of Omagh District Council, the Chief Commissioner, Professor Monica Mc Williams will praise the important contribution local agencies have played in promoting a human rights culture throughout the challenging times Omagh has faced. In 2007 the Commission and the Irish Human Rights Commission, after meeting with the families of the victims of the Omagh bombing, called on the UK and Irish Governments to establish a Cory- style review into the Omagh bombing and associated events.
