MURDER OF PRISON OFFICER DAVID BLACK

David Black was described as a man of kindness, committed to peace in Northern Ireland. The 52-year-old was murdered on November 1st 2012 by Republican dissident paramilitaries in an attack on his car along the M1 motorway outside Portadown. Cookstown in County Tyrone came to a standstill on 6th November 2012 as shops and businesses closed, and hundreds turned out in the town the centre to pay their respects at Mr Black's funeral.
