Fifty one members from Limavady Welfare Support Group made the Coach journey to the Lakeside Hotel overlooking the twin heritage towns of Ballina, Co Tipperary and Killaloe, Co Clare. Killaloe was once the home of the last great Irish King, Brian Boru from 1002 until his death at the Battle of Clontarf in 1014. It would have been the capital of Ireland during his reign. Leaving Limavady we made our way by way of Dungannon stopping off at the Linen Green for morning coffee and then onwards via Armagh and Newry before stopping outside Dublin for lunch. Having stretched our legs and increased our sugar levels it was another hour and a half before we pulled into the beautiful Racket Hall Country House, Roscrea, Tipperary where more leg stretching and of course some liquid refreshments were taken on board. The final leg of our long journey was completed without any hitch and we finally arrived at The Lakeside Hotel overlooking the River Shannon where we were to spend 4 nights.
