Delcam's CADCAM software boosts orthotics production at Salts Techstep

Using Delcam's CADCAM software to design and manufacture its custom orthotic insoles has allowed Salts Techstep to increase dramatically the number of devices that the company can produce. Over five years, the volume increased from around 50 pairs per month to more than 1,000 pairs per month. Other benefits from the change include a reduction in the delivery time, from a minimum of 72 hours using manual methods to as little as an hour for urgent cases using the digital approach. In addition, Salts Techstep no longer has to store fragile plaster casts taken from patients as it can keep a digital record of the scanned foot data indefinitely. This saves a large amount of valuable space, as well as enabling a better service to patients requiring long-term treatments.
