General Atomics (GA) will provide the pre-conceptualndesign for a proposed teaching and test reactor in WestnTexas whose uses would include research on proliferationresistantnthorium-based fuels.nThe proposed reactor, called HT3R, would be based onnGA’s next-generation high-temperature helium-cooled reactorndesign. It would be about 25 megawatts (thermal).nGA and the University of Texas System Feb. 23nannounced a teaming agreement for the pre-conceptualndesign phase. The system is the administration for nine academicnuniversities and six health institutions in Texas
