Opening of Japan’s RFS spent fuel storage facility delayed to fiscal 2023

Japan’s Recyclable-Fuel Storage Co. has delayed opening of its interimspent fuel storage facility at Mutsu City in Aomori prefecture fromOctober to fiscal year 2023, which ends March 31, 2024, companyspokesman Hiroshi Koda said in an interview July 27.Additional construction work on the facility, which was started in2019, will be completed in fiscal 2023, instead of during fiscal 2021 aspreviously planned, Koda added. The announcement is the eighthdelay of the start of operations at the facility.
