Gold trade was fairly u001fat Friday as participants prepared for the holidays. John Meyer, analyst at nFairfax, said: "Quiet London streets and half empty tube trains this morning suggest that many nhave already escaped the city for the Christmas break." One trader said: "I am bullish on gold ngoing into 2012. Over the last few months we have seen the impact of the US dollar as the alterna-ntive to gold, I think that relationship needs to be continuously monitored. Other factors I'm nwatching in 2012 are central bank gold reserves, uncertainty in the global currency and stock nmarkets and the continuation of the consumption pattern of the emerging middle class in the BRIC ncountries especially China."
