China’s unwrought Mg exports up 32% y-o-y Feb

China exported 10,429 mt of unwroughtnmagnesium with minimum 99.8% magnesiumncontent in February, up 32% from thensame month last year, but the figure wasndown 38.8% from the 17,029 mt exportednin the previous month of January, the latestnfigures from the General Administrationnof Customs of China showed. Magnesiumnalloy exports in February were 5,594 mt,nup 10.53% year on year, but a sharp dropnof 40.2% from the 9,357 mt exportednin January. China exported 6,017 mt ofnmagnesium powder, granules and chips innFebruary, edging up 6.6% from the 5,643nexported in February 2010, but downn18.1% from the 7,349 mt exported innJanuary 2011. The country also exportedn756 mt of wrought magnesium in February,nwell over the 222 mt exported in the samenmonth last year. But the figure was an55.5% decline when compared with 1,698nmt exported in January. Exports of magnesiumnarticles totaled 335 mt in February,ndown 62.5% year on year, but up 28.4% onnthe month.
