Trade commission recommends that Biden extend Trump's solar tariffs

The U.S. International Trade Commission recommended Nov. 24 thatthe U.S. should extend tariffs on solar cells and modules.Former U.S. President Donald Trump implemented the Section 201global safeguard tariffs in 2018 in an effort to shield U.S. industry fromforeign competition. The tariffs took effect Feb. 7, 2018.The trade commission will forward its report on an investigationinto the tariffs to U.S. President Joe Biden by Dec. 8. Biden will makethe final decision on an extension.
