About two-thirds of the battery storage power capacity expected tocome online by 2024 will be co-located with a solar photovoltaic powerplant, the US Energy Information Administration announced Sept. 29.Of the 14.5 GW of battery storage planned to come online in the USbetween 2021 and 2024, 9.4 GW, or 63%, will be co-located with solarwhile another 1.3 GW of battery storage will be co-located with windturbines or fossil fuel-fired generators, according to EIA.
