Democratic FERC members reject Republicans' energy transition cost, reliability concerns

Democratic Federal Energy Regulatory Commission members pushed back on Republicans’ claims made earlier this week about reliability threats and significant costs associated with transitioning to cleaner energy sources. Chairman Richard Glick responded directly to Commissioner James Danly’s assertion that passage of the Clean Electricity Performance Program, which Democrats included in the proposed budget reconciliation bill, would amount to “effectively dropping an H-bomb” into organized electricity markets. All four commissioners testified before the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee on Sept. 28.
