Xpansiv CBL's GEO spot contract sees 300% growth since Oct 2020 launch

The Xpansiv CBL's Global Emissions Offset, or GEO, spot contract recorded on July 29 a 300% growth since its launch in October 2020, closing at a record high of $3.20/mt, a spokesperson from CBL said. The GEO spot contract was launched Oct. 8, 2020, and it reflects carbon credits eligible for the CORSIA airline CO2 offsetting scheme. On its first day of trading on Oct. 8, 2020, it closed the trading day at $0.80/mt, according to CBL data. Xpansiv CBL's other spot contract, the Nature-based GEO, or N-GEO, was seen growing by 27% from its first trading day on April 16, 2021 to July 29's close of $5/mt. The N-GEO reached the $5/mt record high level on July 24. It closed at $3.95/mt on its first day of trading. CBL's N-GEO reflects nature-based credits.
