Fuel cell and hydrogen trucks can become cost competitive with diesel in Europe by 2027 if production volumes are ramped up swiftly, Hydrogen Europe President Valerie Bouillon-Delporte said March 4. On a total cost of ownership basis, costs for running hydrogen fuel cell heavy-duty trucks could fall below that for diesel vehicles if implemented at scale, Bouillon-Delporte said.
