Mexico energy regulator CRE halts activities until pandemic is under control

The Mexican Energy Regulatory Commission has halted all nonessentialregulated energy activities until the country's healthauthorities declare the coronavirus no longer poses a threat in MexicoCity, which observers say will further limit competition.The commission, known as the CRE, is responsible for issuing,extending or modifying all permits related to refined products, crudeoil, natural gas and petrochemicals in the country. The CRE regulatesover 26,000 permits.
