PJM Tracker: Weather, loads, gas price uptick boost June prices on month

Wholesale power prices in the PJM Interconnection climbed by doubledigit percentages in June, compared with May, but remained in the low $20s/MWh, as natural gas prices remained weak. August on-peak forwards edged down somewhat, following regional August gas forwards.At the three hubs included in S&P Global Platts monthly Power Trackers, day-ahead on-peak locational marginal prices ranged from less than $21/MWh to about $22/MWh in June, which were up from about 11.5% to 19% from the May averages but down between 13.4% and 16.2% from the June 2019 averages, according to the Platts price database.
