On-peak day-ahead power prices in the western US slid for a thirdconsecutive session Wednesday on the approach of cooler-than-usualweekend temperatures.The Mid-Columbia on-peak day-ahead package slumped $4.75 to tradein the high $20s/MWh. The corresponding off-peak package fell about$3.25 to trade in the low $20s/MWh on the Intercontinental Exchange.Similarly, the Nevada-Oregon Border off-peak day-ahead packageshed $3 to trade in the mid-$20s/MWh, while the California-OregonBorder off-peak package slid about $2.75 to trade near $23/MWh.The California Independent System Operator forecast peakloaddemand would decrease 1.8% to 37,170 MW on Thursday and evenfurther into the weekend.
