ISO-NE day-ahead offer capping revision, new effective date get FERC nod

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission turned thumbs up on ISONew England’s request for an additional five months to amend andimplement its plan to comply with the agency’s order on energy offercaps in the competitive wholesale markets.That order (RM16-5), issued in 2016, kept a $1,000/MWh price capon supply offered in day-ahead and real-time markets, a level alreadyused by most regional grid operators. But it also set a new "hard cap"that would allow offers up to $2,000/MWh to be used to calculatelocational marginal prices, as long as those offers are based onverified costs.
