California ISO renewable curtailments fall as demand rises

Despite higher renewable generation, solar and wind curtailments inthe California Independent System Operator footprint fell on Thursday,as power demand rose and imports declined.CAISO solar curtailments totaled 2,599 MW on Thursday, accordingto S&P Global Platts data, down 51.6% from 5,368 MW on Wednesday.ISO-reported solar generation averaged a five-month high 4,535MW on Thursday, increasing 6.5% on the day and 38% higher than themonth-to-date average. Solar generation, which was the highest sincemid-November 2019, peaked at 2:20 pm PT around 11,185 MW.
