Wind power generation in ERCOT reaches record 20,000 MW

Wind-generated power reached a new high in the Electric ReliabilityCouncil of Texas when 20,066 MW were generated within the gridoperator’s footprint late Wednesday night, according to the grid operator.Wind power made up 52.8% of ERCOT’s fuel mix when the recordwas broken at 10:18 pm CST on Wednesday. The record is 2% higher thanthe previous record, 19,672 MW, set the evening of January 21, 2019.Real-time power traded at under $10/MWh at ERCOT North hubfrom 10:30 pm CST Wednesday through 6 am CST Thursday in theindependent system operator’s marketplace.
