ERCOT adds 1.2 GW of capacity in Dec; 2 GW nears commercial operation

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas approved 1.2 GW of generationcapacity to start commercial operation in December, including about1.1 GW of wind, 100 MW of solar and 11 MW of natural gas-firedgeneration. Another 2 GW entered the final stages before startup.ERCOT released its monthly Generation Interconnection StatusReport on Thursday, which shows a flurry of activity at the end of theyear, with five projects that moved swiftly through the energization andsynchronization approval process and now only await approval forcommercial operation.
