RECs tick downward; solar RECs mixed

Prices for renewable energy certificates were flat to lower for the trading week ending December 25, while solar renewable energy certificate prices were mixed on the week. In the compliance market, Massachusetts and Connecticut Vintage 2019 RECs fell this week after climbing for five consecutive weeks, losing 25 cents to be assessed around $43/REC, according to S&P Global Platts data. Ohio Vintage 2019 RECs were assessed down 75 cents on the week to around $8.25/REC. Maryland V19 RECs were assessed flat around $9.50/REC. New Jersey and Pennsylvania V20 RECs were also assessed around $9.50/REC, unchanged on the week. In the solar REC market, New Jersey V20 SRECs fell 50 cents on the week to be assessed around $229.75/SREC. Trading for the 2021 vintage was unchanged on the week, around $231.50/SREC on the Intercontinental Exchange. Similarly, the 2022 vintage was flat around $206.50/SREC. Maryland SRECs V19 lost $1.25 this week to around $79.50/SREC, after rising steadily over the las seven weeks.
