GIA Midwest, Northeast continue to rise as colder weather intensifies

Platts-ICE Gas Indices Americas Midwest and Northeast contracts have both continued to rise as there has been upward pressure from colder weather in the regions. The GIA Midwest contract reached $2.92/MMBtu for gas flowing on Friday, the highest the contract has reached since $2.97/MMBtu on March 7. There is upward pressure as colder weather in the region is expected to lead to higher demand.
