ERCOT day-ahead rises to the mid-$30s/MWh on stronger load, lower wind expected

Next-day prices in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas footprint pushed higher Friday on the back of higher peakload and weaker wind generation expected early next week. North Hub next-day on-peak for Monday delivery traded in the mid- $30s/MWh on the Intercontinental Exchange, up about $12 from prior settlement for Friday delivery. The grid operator projected the wind generation to fall from 12.2 GW Friday to 10.4 GW Saturday, 8.6 GW Sunday and 5.5 GW Monday, a decrease of 54% over the weekend.
