PJM agrees on plan to further review fuel security risk, potential market-based solutions

The PJM Interconnection, along with its members and stakeholders, have agreed on a plan that could help develop mechanisms to value fuel security within the competitive wholesale power market structure, depending on the findings of a newly formed task force. After some negotiating that combined language from two proposals, members approved a fuel security problem statement and guidance document during a PJM Markets & Reliability Committee meeting Thursday.
