NRC staff advancing Project AIM 2020 prioritization, identifies work to shed

NRC has received hundreds of comments on itsrneffort to prioritize its efforts as part of the ProjectrnAIM 2020 regulatory streamlining, and is close tornidentifying some tasks that will receive lowerrnpriority in the future from the staff, agencyrnofficials said during a meeting January 14.rnUnder Project AIM, NRC seeks to reducernstaffing levels and improve regulatoryrnefficiency (INRC, 15 Jun ‘15, 1). The prioritizationrninitiative is evaluating the agency’s workrnagainst its mission, identifying work the agencyrnmight no longer need to do and considering suggestions for increased efficiency fromrnstakeholders in and outside the agency, NRCrnsaid in slides prepared for the meeting.
