Chicago city-gates added 21 cents on the day to trade at $4.84/ MMBtu, while Natural Gas Pipeline-Midcontinent Pool rose 18 cents on the day to $4.69/MMBtu for flows Oct.21. 3. Total demand in the region was set to steadily rise over the coming days and average 14.3 Bcf/d over the next eight to 14 days, up 1 Bcf from current levels, according to data from S&P Global Platts. The rise in demand was projected to be driven largely by rising residential and commercial demand as the market heads into winter amid expectations of a supply shortage because of weak injections.
