Crude climbs on improved demand outlooks, modest US gasoline build

Crude oil futures settled higher May 12 amid strengthened globaldemand outlooks and a smaller-than-expected US gasoline build.June NYMEX WTI settled 80 cents higher at $66.08/b, and July ICEBrent finished up 77 cents at $69.32/b.US gasoline stockpiles climbed 380,000 barrels to 236.19 millionbarrels in the week ended May 7, US Energy Information Administrationdata showed May 12. The build came in well under market expectationsafter the American Petroleum Institute late on May 11 reported a 5.6 million-barrel increase.
