Avangrid Renewables submits plan for 2.5-GW NC offshore wind farm

Avangrid Renewables LLC submitted a construction and operations planto the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management for the first phase of itsproposed Kitty Hawk Offshore Wind Farm off the coast of North Carolina.Under the proposal, the wind farm will be built in multiple phasesbetween 2021 and 2030. The first phase of the project is expected tohave a capacity of 800 MW, with construction starting as early as 2024.
