American Midstream Partners was taken private Tuesday byinvestment firm ArcLight, a year after a combination with SouthcrossEnergy Partners fell through.The move comes amid an effort by US operators of pipelines,processing plants and gathering systems to overhaul their corporatestructures to boost growth opportunities.Energy Transfer, Enbridge, Oneok, Williams and EQT’s midstreamaffilliate are among the players in the sector that have announcedcorporate simplification or overhaul transactions over the last twoyears. The efforts have been designed to ease operators’ ability to getcapital to fund projects and to drive bigger returns for investors.
