ERCOT ’s real-time co-optimization to proceed without day-ahead market changes

To avoid a two-year delay and millions in extra costs, the Public UtilityCommission of Texas Thursday directed the Electric Reliability Councilof Texas to proceed with implementing real-time co-optimization ofenergy and ancillary services without addressing day-ahead marketenhancements proposed by stakeholders.Stakeholders have “advocated for changes to the day-ahead marketupon implementation of real-time co-optimization,” DeAnn Walker, whoheads the PUC, said in a June 26 memo filed in the relevant Project No.48540. Stakeholders proposed that PUC staff “develop some questionsthat the commission can consider,” Walker said.
