MISO POWER TRAC KER: Prices fall on year on stronger wind output, weaker gas prices

The Midcontinent Independent System Operator’s wholesale priceswere down substantially in September on the year, mainly because ofstronger wind output and lower natural gas prices, an S&P GlobalPlatts analysis showed, but October and November forwards roseduring the month on higher gas prices.Among the five hubs included in this analysis, September’s averageday-ahead on-peak locational marginal prices were down between15.2% and 26.5% from September 2018, with the wind-heavyMinnesota Hub averaging the lowest price, about $21.75/MWh, down23.3% year on year.
