US West natural gas spot prices saw modest gains and losses in trading Wednesday amid weakening outlook across much of the region. In the US Pacific Northwest, Cheyenne Hub added 5 cents on the day to $1.66/MMBtu while Northwest Wyoming Pool shed 1 cents on the day to $1.86/MMBtu for flows Thursday. In the Southwest, PG&E city-gate ascended 2 cents to $2.73/ MMBtu, after dropping to the lowest level since early September amid on-system demand coming off recent highs. PG&E demand stood at about 2.8 Bcf/d Wednesday, pacing slightly below the month-to-date average of nearly 3 Bcf/d. SoCal city-gate gained 35 cents to $3.31/MMBtu, the lowest since early November. Prices lower than this level settled at $3.17/MMBtu on November 1. Similar to the PG&E footprint, SoCal on-system demand also trailed behind the month-to-date average due to lack of consistent winter demand.
