Power demand in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas service area is expected to jump Tuesday, driven by rising temperatures, lifting ERCOT next-day power prices on Monday. ERCOT North Hub day-ahead on-peak rose $7 to trade in the mid- $30s/MWh on the Intercontinental Exchange for Tuesday delivery. On Tuesday, ERCOT system-wide peakload is forecast to jump 14% to around 57,450 MW, according to the grid operator.
