NYISO Zone A spot rises $2.50 on higher gas prices

Northeast daily power prices were mostly stronger Monday on higher spot gas prices, despite weaker expected peakload. In the New York Independent System Operator footprint, locational marginal prices were mixed with lower expected peakload. NYISO Zone A West on-peak day-ahead LMP added $2.50 to low $30s/MWh for Tuesday delivery, according to the ISO. Spot gas at Transco Zone 6 New York increased 48.5 cents to around $1.165/MMBtu and has averaged about $1.145/MMBtu so far this month, down 35% month on month and 60% lower year on year. Zone G HVL on-peak was unchanged at roughly $19/MWh, as Zone J NYC on-peak fell $1 to nearly $19.75/MWh.
