Natural gas cash prices in the Upper Midwest and Midcontinent regions edged lower Friday amid a strong demand outlook and ample supply. Prices at the MichCon city-gate shed 12 cents day on day to $1.61/ MMBtu, while the Chicago city-gates fell 3 cents to settle at $1.75/ MMBtu on the Intercontinental Exchange for deliveries over the weekend through Monday. Total demand in the Upper Midwest and Midcontinent production area is set to average 15.5 Bcf/d Saturday through Monday, up nearly 2 Bcf from Friday levels and one of the highest levels since August, according to S&P Global Platts Analytics.
