PJM West Hub on-peak February climbs $11 on higher NYMEX gas contract

Mid Atlantic and Midcontinent power forwards spiked Monday as the NYMEX prompt-month natural gas contract added 49.2 cents to settle around $3.591/MMBtu. PJM West Hub on-peak February jumped $11 on the day to trade in the mid-$60s/MWh on the Intercontinental Exchange, $12 higher year on year. Off-peak was up $8.50 to trade in the low $50s/MWh. AD Hub on-peak February rose $8.75 to trade in the mid-$50s/ MWh, $12.50 higher than where the 2018 package was at the same time last year. NI Hub on-peak February increased $6.25 to trade in the mid- $40s/MWh, $9 higher year on year. TETCO M-3 February gas basis rose $1.249 to trade around $4.237/MMBtu on ICE. Further down the curve, PJM West Hub on-peak March increased $3.50 to trade in the mid-$40s/MWh on ICE.
