Westcoast maintenance drives up Sumas, AECO cash prices

West cash prices fluctuated Thursday amid Westcoast Energy maintenance, record low storage and weather-driven demand. Along the Canadian border, Sumas gained $12.16 to $25.53/MMBtu as maintenance work at Westcoast Energy is set to reduce inflows of Canadian gas to the Pacific Northwest to 577 MMcf Thursday, down nearly 410 MMcf from the start of the month, according to S&P Global Platts Analytics.
