Shell’s Hofmeister pleased but fearful after US tournAfter visiting 50 US cities to sample public perceptions of energy supply and demand, John Hofmeister,npresident of Shell’s US operations, said he was both heartened and frightened by the response, andndetermined to make a better case for his company and industry. “It was heartening to see that Americans arentaking energy issues seriously,” Hofmeister said in a report on the tour released in February. “Attendance at thenevents was high, and those who came were very engaged on the issue.”
