Recession stalls Mexican power plans

Faced with a 10% cut in its investment budget for next year, Mexico's state Federal Electricity Commission has postponed several projects, including the flagship La Parota 900 MW hydro scheme and the 750 MW Tamazunchale-ll combined-cycle independent power project. Tamazunchale-II is not now expected to come online until 2015 and La Parot 2018.
