Venezuela makes headway with LNG partnerships

Venezuelan oil minister Rafael Ramirez has formally invited top executives of Japanese trading houses to consider participating in developing gas fields for the country's first LNG train with a view to making a final decision before year's end. Following his meeting in Tokyo with top executives of Japanese companies, including Inpex, Mitsubishi, Mitsui, Itochu, Marubeni, JGC and the state-owned Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation, Ramirez said, "We are offering Japanese companies participation in the offshore Delta Caribe Oriental.
