Iraq makes gas awards

Iraq's oil ministry has accepted bids from three consortiums in its international auction for three natural gas fields, despite less than half of the 13 pre-qualified companies making bids. The three fields on offer were the Akkas field in Anbar province, which the oil ministry estimates hold reserves of 157 Bcm, the Mansuriya field in Diyala province, with reserves of 126 Bcm, and the Siba field in Basra province, with reserves of around 42 Bcm.
