PDVSA starts Mariscal Sucre development alone

Venezuela's state energy company PDVSA has, for now, decided to develop the offshore Mariscal Sucre natural gas properties on its own because investment offers from foreign companies were inadequate, an aide to oil minister Rafael Ramirez said in January. An auction process for the four blocks, Dragon, Patao, Mejillones and Ro Caribe, located offshore in eastern Venezuela's Sucre state, ended January 15. The four blocks are known collectively as the Mariscal Sucre development, which has proven gas reserves of 14.7 Tcf.
