The American Public Gas Association has asked the US Department of Energy to reject Freeport LNG's request for permission to export US-sourced gas to countries with which the US does not have free trade agreements, saying it would allow exporters to "squander America's best opportunity to foster energy independence" and raise domestic gas prices.
