Tunisia: revolution or revolutions?

Tunisia's revolution has shaken North Africa and the Middle East to the core. The region's political landscape is dominated by a patchwork of autocratic royal and presidential regimes, with economic and political power concentrated in the hands of tiny elites. Many of the factors that stimulated the Arab world's first successful, popular revolution are shared by the region as a whole. Tunisia's Jasmine revolution has shown that these regimes can be overthrown.
