The Ukraine crisis has prompted a breakthrough in Sino-Russian gas relations. After years of deadlock over price, Moscow and Beijing finally came to an agreement over the Power of Siberia pipeline in June. They are now discussing a second major pipeline to export gas from western Siberia. But despite Russia's Asian pivot, Europe has little to fear from these developments.
