Argentina's government said in June that it believes creditors are seeking to seize oil, mining and other assets in the country to collect repayment on bonds from a 2001 default on $100 billion. "There are hidden interests that have to do with the prospect of appropriating real and financial assets of Argentina," Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich said in a televised press conference.
