Chinese coal slurry pipeline falls behind schedule

The construction of Asia's longest coal pipeline in northwestern China's Shaanxi province is behind schedule, owing to a lack of funds, market sources reported in June. The 748 kilometer (464 mile) pipeline will have an annual capacity of 10 million mt of coal slurry and will connect the coal-rich Shenmu County in northern Shaanxi with Weinan in the central part of the province. The pipeline was scheduled for completion in June.
