US-based Rayton Solar Inc. says it can make solar energy cheaper than energy produced by fossil fuels by using Float Zone Silicon, a higher grade silicon that is 25% more efficient than the industry standard. The company says it has produced working solar cells that are 60% less expensive, 25% more efficient and 100 times thinner than the industry standard, claiming PV modules with 24% efficiency.
