Turkish coal deals kept down by sulfur rules uncertainty

Uncertainty over potential raising of the current cap toallow Turkish power generators to burn up to 3% high sulfurthermal coal has limited term deals in the early part of theyear, trade sources said in February. Generators arehesitant to lock into deals knowing regulations could beimplemented this year either removing the current 1%sulfur cap on thermal coal-burning plants or raising thelimit to 3%.
